I - What is Booth Avocado?

Booth avocado is a relatively new crop in Vietnam, but it is quickly gaining popularity due to its delicious taste and creamy texture.  It is characterized by its elongated shape and dark green, almost black, skin. Booth avocado has a bright yellow flesh, and a rich and creamy texture, making it ideal for guacamole or spreading on toast.

The climate in some regions of Vietnam, such as the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta, is suitable for growing Booth avocados.

II - How to Choose Booth Avocado?

Choosing the best Booth avocado is crucial to ensure that you get the most delicious and creamy fruit. Here are some tips to help you choose the best Booth avocado:

Look for avocados with dark green, almost black, skin. Avoid avocados with bruises or blemishes on the skin.
Gently press the avocado to check for ripeness. The avocado should yield slightly to pressure without feeling mushy.
If you are not planning on eating the avocado immediately, choose avocados that are still firm to the touch. They will ripen naturally at room temperature over a few days.

III - How to Store Booth Avocado for Export?

Storing Booth avocados properly is critical to maintaining their quality and freshness for export. The fruit should be stored at a temperature between 7-10°C and at a relative humidity of 85-90%. It is also important to avoid exposure to sunlight, which can cause the fruit to ripen prematurely and spoil.

To extend the shelf life of Booth avocado, it is recommended to store the fruit in a cool room with controlled humidity. This can help to slow down the ripening process and prevent spoilage.

Before export, Booth avocados should be properly packaged in foam or paper to protect it from damage during transportation. The fruit should be placed in cartons or boxes that are labeled with information such as the variety, origin, and weight of the fruit

IV - Where to get booth avocado

By following these guidelines for storing Booth avocados, exporters can ensure that the fruit remains fresh and high-quality during transportation and meets the standards of international markets.
